I need a van to carry my tools round in but if you know me, you'll know I'm miserable as sin and don't like spending money. This has been in my head for the last couple of days... ![]() Is it as simple as cutting 2 bits of tin and fitting them in using the original rubbers or do they need to be properly welded/bonded in? Or am I just going to ruin a perfectly good Polo? Interested in some opinions. |

To be honest with those tail lights and deep bumper, thats looks like a MK11. The next generation Polo van is actually the Caddy. Please chip in and correct me if I'm wrong. |

I vaguely rememember a mate owning a MK1 van in the early 80's. He was a mechanic. Ribbed steel floor and half a bulk head behind the seats. Drivers side only, door mirror and sun visor, and small bumpers. 1043cc, 4 speed. They were very basic wee workhorses. |

A pic says 1000 words Mk2 Polo Van ![]() Mk3 Polo Van ![]() MK3 also called MK2f as appeared quite similar although was actually different bodyshell (bulkhead was changed) most panels different too. I remember a few but not many Mk2 vans about. TBH Pugly think it'd be a waste of that wee breadvan to do that to it, they're getting scarce enough, if you fire that on gumtree etc you'd get it sold or someone to swap you for a wee cheap van even

Why not just take out the rear seats, put in one of those loading bay tray things and fit some of that cheap 'n' nasty tint film to the rear windows?. |
