I was wondering if we all put our heads together and built a car as a team, what would we come up with. So taking it in turns we each add an item to the previous post to see how our ultimate retro-mobile would take shape. Only add one item at a time and no deleting other people's ideas - this is a democratic website is it not?!? A list of items is all we need, but if you want to add a photo for clarity feel free. And of course we need to work on somewhat of a budget - shoe string customising so no £1000 rims or one-off bodykits. I'm thinking more along the lines of e-bay specials!! I wonder how wacky our car will turn out - maybe someone will build it for us someday! I'll start with the motor for the basis of the project. For the grand total of £950 (I'm sure with a bit of haggling we would have got that down a bit, and then with a luck penny threw in we would have this home for around £600!) we are now the proud owners of this fantastic 1986 Mazda 626 GLX. A 2 litre, so plenty of potential to rein a few more horsies out there. ![]() and here's the advert for the other info and pics of our new motor; http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/mazda/other-models/classic-1986-mazda-626-glx/823654 who's going to be first to start "doing-up" this cool bit of 80s motoring? |

Coming together well - but Jim - that's four things!!! The rule was add AN item to the list!! lol Oh - we need some hub adapters to fit Gav's wheels. Current upgrades now include; 1. Lettered tyres on Rota 6 spokes (with appropriate hub adapters) 2. TWR bodykit (or similar) 3. Beeded seat cover 4. gear knob with fossil thing inside! 5. ===626=== backflash 6. anti staticstrips, 7. white plastic door protectors with reflectors 8. "Limited Edition" sticker 9. gold plated tissuebox on rear shelf (not sure about the last item, but rules are rules and it's staying!!) Edited by minitravellerman, Oct 12 2012, 00:08.

original feu orange is very very hard to get, they were withdrawn from the market years back, me and a mate have tried to get one this year for his car, not an easy task and when one does come up, it gets bid way more than we are prepared to pay. |
