Boss wanted to squash it and I had to convince him not to. Currently looking for a loving home for it, been a lot of interest! Would love to take it home myself but it would only end up parked behind the garage like the rest of my stuff.

Shell is as close to perfect as you're ever going to get for something of that age. Few parts missing, back bumper, p/s door handle and mirror and windscreen but everything else is there. Door cards are missing too but it wouldn't be hard to knock a set up with a bit of 1/8th ply and some leatherette.

He's looking round £450 for it.

Got most of the bits gathered up for it today. Fiddly stuff like indicators, door handles and bits of trim. Still need to source a front windy and back bumper. Messed about with it a while earlier and the engine is turning over. Might try to start it tomorrow if I get a bit of free time.

Not 100% on selling it now. Of course, it would be hard to refuse cold hard cash if it was waved under my nose but I have a half notion of taking it on. No plans ATM but I'm looking for the last couple of parts now and I'll footer away in my spare time and see where it goes from there.

Do! Imagine how different it would be. Sounds like a silly question... But is it rear wheel drive?
If so, then there is no question, it must be kept.

Yeah, it's RWD and I know what you're thinking but it's out of the question, I've already thought about it lol.

There just isn't room for a gearbox tunnel. The wheel arch is in right beside the accelerator pedal, then you have just enough room for the 2 pedals, then the centre console. It reminds me of sitting in a Reliant Robin the way it's all cramped up. Most of the gearbox sits in front of the bulkhead and if you wanted to fit a bigger engine and proper gearbox, the engine would be so far forward it would be a horrible, nasty understeering pig.

Would a motorcycle engine fit in?

And also, why the Polo as your signature? :)

Bike engine is a good idea but I think I'd rather just keep it standard.

I was driving a Polo for a while until a traffic island drove into me. :)

Okay. well, as long as you keep the car I'll be happy. Haha
Damn traffic islands.... Was it a mk2? So jealous if so.

Yeah was a Mk2. Pics of it in the members gallery. Could kick myself for hitting it but another one will turn up. I seem to have a knack for finding things like that.
